Why ‘Call-To-Action’ Or Response Generation Buttons Are Important

Think about all the times you’ve signed up for things in your life. Most of these signups occurred as the result of an effective call-to-action or CTA.

If you hadn’t been drawn in by the text, graphics and placement of the CTA, or been guided through your sign-up process, you would probably use a lot fewer apps and websites than you do now.

A CTA is the part of a webpage, advertisement, or piece of content that encourages the audience to take action. CTAs can help a business convert a visitor to a website, or the reader of an email into a lead, or drive a variety of steps depending on the goal. It is highly important part of guiding your own prospects through the buying journey using strategic CTAs.

Is attractive email marketing enough to generate a response from readers?

A major part of email marketing is creating a response, which becomes even more difficult when there is no call to Action in your emails. Messages such as, Sign Up, Learn More, Try For Free, Get Started, Subscribe and Join Us are great ways to engage your target.

Where Should I Add The Call To Action To Make It Most Effective?

Traditionally, marketers have embraced the best practice of placing CTA buttons “above the fold” on landing pages or at the top portion of a web page. This refers to more messages getting read at the top of a newspaper page. The lower on a newspaper page, the less likely content is to be read. It still holds true for digital marketing in that “above the fold” means placing the message so it is visible without a user having to scroll.

Which Action Should I Ask My Readers To Take Through A CTA?

It depends on your goal. You may wish them to do a variety of things:

– Ask them to click and respond as ‘wanting to learn more’

– Ask them to call or email you for an appointment

– Ask them to view or read your content through a given link

– Ask them to share and/or ‘like’ your content

Whether you ask readers to book a meeting with you, sign up for your next financial services webinar, or join you in a local charity project — adding a CTA to your emails is an effective way to generate leads and move then through the buying process.
